KING DAVID

Justice

Isaiah 61:8

“For I, the LORD, love justice;
I hate robbery for burnt offering;
I will direct their work in truth,
And will make with them an everlasting covenant.

1. The Lord loves judgment
2. The Lord hates robbery for burnt offering (Eli’s sons: Hophni & Phineas)
3. God directs the righteous in truth
4. God has an everlasting covenant with His people

In His cause for justice, God has a directive to make His justice victorious.
Justice always wins.
Justice ever prevails.

It doesn’t matter how long evil, injustice and oppression breed the stage of humanity. They all get their day in court. A court where the sovereign Lord sits as judge and jury. The Sovereign Lord has
not once lost a case. Oh, it may look like you’re winning, Injustice! What a set up! You’re literally setting yourself up for defeat. … And your defeat is inevitable. One day, one day, one day, the Almighty will pull out all your stops, Oppression! Oh Evil, your day in court before the Almighty will come. Oh no! You don’t get to stand trial before the unjust judges you pay off, nor the biased ones, nor the juries manipulated with unjust laws. This time, you get to stand trial before the Lord who loves justice.

Matthew 12:18-20 speaks of the Lord’s servant who will bring justice to the people, to the nations. The Lord's servant, Jesus, made justice triumph. Justice won!

For 400 years, bondage and oppression ruled over God’s people, but they finally left Egypt. In Psalm 12:5, the Lord says, “for the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now I will arise. I will set him in safety from him that puffs at him.”

And so, Goliath had to go (King David), with every other giant, every Philistine and every Pharoah.

One of the problems God had with His own people in Isaiah Chapter 1, verse 17 was injustice. God said to them, “Learn to do good, seek justice, help the oppressed, defend the cause of orphans, fight for the rights of widows.”

In Isaiah 42:22, the Word says. “But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and no one delivers them; they are for a spoil, and no one says,Restore.

Injustice is as prevalent as dirt. It always was and it continues to be. The worst part about injustice is when we sit silent and do absolutely nothing to fix it, especially those vested with power to do so.
